Dan Settle has been playing guitar for 15 years, and began teaching over four years ago.  He became an SDML Certified Instructor in August, 2016.

Hailing from Waukegan, Illinois and teaching at Music Source (Grayslake, IL) Dan began his guitar studies in the metal genre, with influences varying from "Bullet For My Valentine," "August Burns Red," and "Periphery." After several years, Dan began to broaden his focus, exploring the realms of jazz, blues, rock, reggae, and country, eventually experimenting with 7-string and 8-string guitars.

He then began examining alternate tunings and creating fusion styles, blending his metal background with new ideas and influences. After years of practicing on his own, he established his presence as a performer with local band "Impressions," and later "A Dying Ultimatum." Recently, Dan has taken on a new project, metalcore band "My Crown, My Kingdom," from Chicago.

Soon after becoming a recognized and respected guitarist in the local music scene, Dan was asked to begin taking on students at Music Source.  Through his training and certification under Senior SDML Instructor Paulie Felice, Dan has become a solid and accomplished teacher in his own right, providing a comfortable, friendly, and easy learning environment.
